Wine Highway Weekend

Saturday was an amazing day! Several friends and I drove up to North Georgia where we took part in the Wine Highway Weekend. All the local vineyards joined together to celebrate the Spring and you could travel between them and do tastings at each for only $20.

We started our day at Montaluce Vineyard. This is a new area that is being developed as a spa, country club, vineyard & winery. We LOVED it. The decor was so chic, the food amazing and the wine tastings were great. They don't currently have their own wine as their vines are still too young but I look forward to going back when they start producing their own. We lounged by the fire, listened to great acoustic music and even got a tour of the wine making facilities.
Here is a view of some of the vineyards:
Next Rob & Alvin joined us at the Wolf Mountain Winery. This place has been around for 10 years. It was set on a beautiful hill overlooking the mountains and had a rustic luxury to it. Here we had tastings inside the barrel room. My favorite was the 2007 pure Cabernet that we tried straight out of the barrel. We took lots of pics here.

Finally we went to Frogtown Cellars which had the largest vineyard of all three. It was a great open room and would be perfect for a big party. It was a wonderful relaxing day with friends. I'd definitely recommend this weekend to anyone. Check out the website for more information.
